Like cats with nine lives, a middle-aged woman, Mrs Agunbiade Temitope's home was on Saturday,8th of October,2022 partly razed down when some suspected hoodlum invaded her home located in the Kuforiji Olubi area, in the Adigbe area of Abeokuta.
It was gathered that the hoodlums came to the house to avenge the recent roles played by Mrs Agunbiade Temitope who was the assistant manager with an Ogun State-based financial institution.
It could be recalled that following her appearance at the Ogun State High Court as a prosecution witness in a loan default suit against an Egba Chief, Mrs Temitope Agunbiade has been a subject of a series of attacks from suspected followers of the Egba Chief, Adebisi Adeolegan.
It was gathered that Mrs Agunbiade Temitope who works at Finance and Commercial Services Ltd, Southwest Resource Center Oke-Mosan Abeokuta Ogun State stood as a witness in a suit against one Chief Adebisi Adeolegan Ige who was dragged to court for failing to repay a loan of N10 million naira he obtained for farming.
Chief Adebisi, a 62-year-old Egba High Chief, was arraigned, with Agunbiade Temitope an Assistant Manager with the finance institution standing as a prosecution witness.
Chief Ige who is a Chief in Odeda, Odeda local government area of Ogun State was said to have obtained a loan of N10 million naira for farming from a financial institution based in Abeokuta sometimes in February 2019.
In the suit, he was alleged to have obtained the loan to farm from Finance and Commercial Services Ltd, Southwest Resource Center, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, but failed to pay back the loan in full, leaving him with a balance of N5.2million, after series of a plea for him to do so by the financial firm.
But the whole scenario took a precarious situation when on 7th July 2021, some unknown men stormed the house of Agunbiade at 4, Mercy drive off Kuforiji Olubi road, Adigbe Abeokuta.
Our Correspondent gathered that the assailants came to her house after the proceeding on 7th July 2021, destroyed her property and killed two of her domestic animals during the rampage.
It was also gathered that Mrs Agunbiade Temitope who was said to have facilitated the release of the loan to Chief Adebisi was at a Church programme during the attack.
But narrating the latest attack to Our correspondent, Mr Kunle Daud, a neighbour to the Agunbiades said the assailants may have thought that Mrs Agunbiade Temitope and her husband Agunbiade Olalekan Olumide were around as the hoodlums were shouting the husband's name when they came visiting.
Mr Daud said from the conversation coming from those people, they thought that the husband ought to have prevented his wife, Mrs Agunbiade Temitope from testifying in the court against their principal.
From what I gathered, the man is still battling with the case, they saw the woman and her husband to be factors that can make or mar the case, hence the more they are willing to get rid of her and the husband by all means.
He said that a section of the house was destroyed while property including vehicles and other personal belongings were burnt to ashes.
An eyewitness said the hoodlums scaled the fence and forcefully gained entrance destroying many properties.
It was also gathered that the matter had been reported to the police with no arrest yet made.
