Dr Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Ministries worldwide, popularly called MFM has enjoined Christians to strive for power from above, rather than earthly power, as this is a wicked world whose power cannot subdue darkness.
Dr Olukoya stressed the need for Christians to pay the price to acquire power from on high noting that if a child of Satan could fast and sleep at cemetery for 21 days to get the power of darkness, then believers too must be serious to pay the price for acquiring power from God.
Christianity is essentially supernatural, we have a supernatural Jesus with a supernatural ministry, creating a supernatural church, with a supernatural Gospel and a supernatural Bible with unbeatable power of God, he said.
In his maiden address at the 35th year Anniversary and Convention of MFM at Prayer City, Ibafo, along Lagos - Ibadan Expressway titled "Understanding Spiritual Power", Dr Olukoya quoted from Luke 24:49 which says "And, behold, I send the promise of my father upon you : but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endowed with power from on high".
The man of God also encouraged believers to get power from above to trample on spiritual serpents, scorpions and power that transformed to human being in the day and animals in the night.
He further said, it is impossible for enemies to trample upon believers and go unwounded when there is power available for Christians to deal with any agent of darkness around us.
Emphasizing that without any
appology, all the power the herbalists, witches, wizard and other demonic forces are using are from below which can not withstand the power from on high.
Expatiating futher on Christianity and Power, Dr Olukoya said, there are two ways, gate of salvation at the cross and gate of power through baptism of fire according to Acts 1:8 "But ye shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you" Power is what we need to combat with the devil and defeat him and his agents.
Elijah was a brutal prophet in the old testament, he used power from above to get all he needed, Olukoya noted.
He concluded his message by encouraging believers to possess power from on high because some demons may not respect Psalm 23 when you recite it but when you demonstrate the power of God, they will flee, christians are facing modern day demons not olden day demons that is why we all need power from on high.
